MAN BITES GOD TAKE PEPPERMINT SUPERFROG ON THE ROAD
15/06/07
Melbourne's fun-rockers, Man Bites God, are on the
road again to promote the release of their sixth cd
release, Peppermint Superfrog.
During June and July, Man Bites God will be appearing in Tasmania, Sydney, Adelaide, Geelong, Warrnambool, Ballarat, Belgrave and returning to Melbourne to launch the new album at the East Brunswick club on July 12.
Peppermint Superfrog is the delicious and exciting new album from Man Bites God. The band have thrown together elements of punk, electronica, rock and pop to create an album that is fast moving and fun, with lyrics that are surreal, quick-witted and quickly delivered. Peppermint Superfrog is an explosion of garage-band rock, synth-pop and complete absurdity. But don’t take our word for it, Jeff Jenkins (Inpress) says:
"Pop songs the way they should be - short and sharp, with an energy that leaps out of the speakers…from punk to electro, Peppermint Superfrog is a genre-busting delight… like going 15 rounds with pop heavyweights. It'll leave you exhausted and exhilarated."
Man Bites God have been wowing audiences both here and overseas for the last seven years and their fun and frenetic live shows are a huge part of the Man Bites God experience. This tour will be their last set of shows for 2007, and the wailing of people who miss these gigs will be heard beyond the solar system.
Resistance is useless.

MAN BITES GOD RESURRECT THE DROWNING HITLERS & GORSKYS - ONE NIGHT ONLY
20/09/06
Man
Bites God will be headlining at The Spanish Club on
Friday November 24th with Melbourne cult legends The
Drowning Hitlers and veteran musical nerd duo The
Gorskys. Man Bites God have coaxed both bands out of
semi-retirement to play their first gig in over 6
years.
The Drowning Hitlers, a 10-piece fun-rock band featuring horns and backing singers, was the first band in which Mark, Chris and James played together before going on to form Man Bites God. The theatricality of their live shows and subversive tunes earnt them a cult status in Melbourne.
"The Drowning Hitlers' gigs were insane - lots of people onstage and in the audience, and lots of very stupid fun songs. We're definitely looking forward to taking the stage with the old band again", said MBG guitarist James Hazelden. "The opening act, The Gorskys is our drummer Chris' first band, so the whole gig will be like a big insanely joyous family reunion."
The Gorskys first started playing in the early 90's and originally included Fox-Fm's Jo Stanley. In 1999, they released a tongue-in cheek track entitled "New Millennium" which foretold the end of the world on January 1, 2000. The groups' website crashed on September 12, 2001, when millions of panicked googlers visited the lyrics page for "New Millennium" which included references to "planes falling out of the sky" and "stock market crash".
Man Bites God will be presenting a cavalcade of upbeat songs from their new album, currently in production.
2006 has been a great year for Man Bites God. The independent Melbourne band were invited to support The Whitlams, and have had several tracks from their new album, The Popular Alternative, played on international pod-casts and radio. The band will also be celebrating the launch of their new music video for the song Cubby House taken from their album, The Popular Alternative. The gothic film clip features psychopathic dentists, detectives, torture and singing children.
