During June and July, Man Bites God will be appearing in
Tasmania, Sydney, Adelaide, Geelong, Warrnambool, Ballarat, Belgrave and returning to Melbourne to launch the new album at the East Brunswick club on July 12.

Peppermint Superfrog is the delicious and exciting new album from Man Bites God. The band have thrown together elements of punk, electronica, rock and pop to create an album that is fast moving and fun, with lyrics that are surreal, quick-witted and quickly delivered. Peppermint Superfrog is an explosion of garage-band rock, synth-pop and complete absurdity. But don’t take our word for it, Jeff Jenkins (Inpress) says:

"Pop songs the way they should be - short and sharp, with an energy that leaps out of the speakers…from punk to electro, Peppermint Superfrog is a genre-busting delight… like going 15 rounds with pop heavyweights. It'll leave you exhausted and exhilarated."

Man Bites God have been wowing audiences both here and overseas for the last seven years and their fun and frenetic live shows are a huge part of the Man Bites God experience. This tour will be their last set of shows for 2007, and the wailing of people who miss these gigs will be heard beyond the solar system.

Resistance is useless.

MAN BITES GOD RESURRECT THE DROWNING HITLERS & GORSKYS - ONE NIGHT ONLYmanbitesgod@manbitesgod.comGigs2006-09-20T23:26:00+10:00http://www.manbitesgod.com/media/medianew/page1/files/8a7ea49fb0a4f0f482c24b7a84bfb1f0-2.html#unique-entry-id-2http://www.manbitesgod.com/media/medianew/page1/files/8a7ea49fb0a4f0f482c24b7a84bfb1f0-2.html#unique-entry-id-2Man Bites God will be headlining at The Spanish Club on Friday November 24th with Melbourne cult legends The Drowning Hitlers and veteran musical nerd duo The Gorskys. Man Bites God have coaxed both bands out of semi-retirement to play their first gig in over 6 years.

The Drowning Hitlers, a 10-piece fun-rock band featuring horns and backing singers, was the first band in which Mark, Chris and James played together before going on to form Man Bites God. The theatricality of their live shows and subversive tunes earnt them a cult status in Melbourne.

"The Drowning Hitlers' gigs were insane - lots of people onstage and in the audience, and lots of very stupid fun songs. We're definitely looking forward to taking the stage with the old band again", said MBG guitarist James Hazelden. "The opening act, The Gorskys is our drummer Chris' first band, so the whole gig will be like a big insanely joyous family reunion."

The Gorskys first started playing in the early 90's and originally included Fox-Fm's Jo Stanley. In 1999, they released a tongue-in cheek track entitled "New Millennium" which foretold the end of the world on January 1, 2000. The groups' website crashed on September 12, 2001, when millions of panicked googlers visited the lyrics page for "New Millennium" which included references to "planes falling out of the sky" and "stock market crash".

Man Bites God will be presenting a cavalcade of upbeat songs from their new album, currently in production.

2006 has been a great year for Man Bites God. The independent Melbourne band were invited to support The Whitlams, and have had several tracks from their new album, The Popular Alternative, played on international pod-casts and radio. The band will also be celebrating the launch of their new music video for the song Cubby House taken from their album, The Popular Alternative. The gothic film clip features psychopathic dentists, detectives, torture and singing children.

MAN BITES GOD - "ROCK 'N ROLL LIFESTYLE"manbitesgod@manbitesgod.comRecordings2006-07-12T23:35:19+10:00http://www.manbitesgod.com/media/medianew/page1/files/ae93e8e5e14de92afd617829dd693f91-3.html#unique-entry-id-3http://www.manbitesgod.com/media/medianew/page1/files/ae93e8e5e14de92afd617829dd693f91-3.html#unique-entry-id-3Man Bites God celebrate their forthcoming Melbourne residency and Australian Tour by releasing "Rock n' Roll Lifestyle" - the fourth single from their critically acclaimed album, "The Popular Alternative".

"Rock n' Roll Lifestyle" has already received international airplay on US College radio and several high profile international podcasters. The song was recently chosen to open the "Daily Source Code" Podcast, one of the most popular independent music Podcasts in the world. With so many people already playing the tune, Man Bites God decided to release it as an official single.

"Rock n' Roll Lifestyle" is a fun, upbeat, surfer-rock track that mercilessly attacks those rock-stars who are constantly bemoaning
their own fame, success and good fortune. With its hooky bass line and cheesy organ, the song seeks to put fame in perspective.

Previous singles from Man Bites God's "The Popular Alternative" include the dark pop ballad "Cubby House", "Bride of the Dragon" with guest vocals by Deborah Conway, and "Win At All Costs" - Man Bites God's controversial anti-Commonwealth Games Anthem.

Man Bites God are returning to the studio in October to begin work on their third full-length album. They are also playing a free Friday Night August residency at Plan B in Lygon Street to rehearse and decide on new material, as well as performing several songs from "The Popular Alternative" and their self-titled debut album. After that the band head to Queensland and NSW.

Their album "The Popular Alternative" is out now through MGM.]]>
MAN BITES GOD RELEASE "WIN AT ALL COSTS" SINGLEmanbitesgod@manbitesgod.comRecordings2006-03-06T23:38:13+11:00http://www.manbitesgod.com/media/medianew/page1/files/4ea740f959c12216f3261c35ea5edc58-4.html#unique-entry-id-4http://www.manbitesgod.com/media/medianew/page1/files/4ea740f959c12216f3261c35ea5edc58-4.html#unique-entry-id-4Man Bites God are fed up to the gills with:

a) Australia pretending that winning a bunch of medals in the Commonwealth Games is any kind of achievement

b) The continual lionizing, promotion and funding of dumb athletes at the expense of education, health and housing

c) The pimping out of our hometown of Melbourne for this tacky, gaudy celebration of weird pointless sports and corrupt officials

...so we did something about it.

Man Bites God have released a special Commonwealth Games Anti- Anthem called "Win At All Costs". The song is a mock-heroic rock ballad that revels in the real values espoused by modern competitive sports: aggression, banality, greed and copious drug taking. This should be the song played at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, but it won't be so you should play it on the radio instead. Let's fight the powers that be with satirical rock.

The song is the third single from the Man Bites God album, "The Popular Alternative". The album was released last year and supported by a national tour, where it received acclaim from fans and critics alike. The first two singles, "Cubby House" and "Bride of the Dragon" (featuring Deborah Conway on lead vocals) have received good radio airplay, and film-clips for the two songs are about to be released.

Man Bites God are currently preparing for a four show season at the
Adelaide Fringe, and will then return to Melbourne to play two dates at Pony on Wednesday 26th of April and Wednesday 3rd of March.

Man Bites God are also about to release free downloadable Podcasts of their rehearsals, including their music, banter and childish infighting.

Their new album "The Popular Alternative" is out now through MGM.
